Attention fans of Imagine Dragons and Bastille! Some Velvet Morning are here with a vinyl release of new album ‘Rough Seas’. The album promises to be a versatile yet familiar with potential hits for many music fans, having something that will appeal to anyone from so many genres. Keep your eyes peeled for this, with vinyl release coming 19th September.

The album that starts off strong with ‘Ghosts’ and the album’s namesake, ‘Rough Seas’. Any listener would be forgiven for thinking that they’ve accidentally hit shuffle and are hearing completely different bands after these openers, with a change in style that is delivered with absolute comfort in both. ‘Ghosts’ starts off and builds up slow, a song you can imagine that would get the blood pumping in a crowd with atmospheric music and exciting lyrics that dovetail together really well, leaving you wanting to hear more. ‘Rough Seas’ blows it away, giving you the anthem-like music that ‘Ghosts’ seemed to allude to, showing that Some Velvet Morning’s versatility is something to watch out for.

Each song has a distinctly different feel from the last, with one of the few constants being the sheer quality of the music from the band and immense production from Coldplay producer, Rik Simpson. Every riff, every beat and every lyric are all so clear that at the peak of every song regardless of style, you know that the song is a Some Velvet Morning song.

Some Velvet Morning is comprised of singer and guitarist, Desmond Lambert, whose lyrical content and voice pierce the rip-roaring music, which is accompanied by Rob Flanagan on drums and brother, Gavin Lambert on bass as well as supporting on vocals.

The trio have made an album that serves everyone interested in music nowadays – with fantastic music throughout, ingenious lyrics and original ideas, Some Velvet Morning could be just your cup of tea.

The album itself is full to the brim with hits and genuine quality that is enough to have huge appeal to anyone. With tracks like ‘Ghost’ and ‘Butterfly’, it gives everyone’s inner-singer-songwriter a chance to indulge, and the inner-dancer to come out with tracks such as ‘Magic Places’ and ‘Hypnotising’. If you made the mistake of missing the initial release of  ‘Rough Seas’, you owe it to yourself to keep an eye out of their vinyl release! A great album, with fantastic artwork and massive pop appeal? Go on then!
