For 50 years, the 606 Club has played an important role in London’s live music scene. What began in 1976 as a small basement venue at 606 Kings Road has grown into a Chelsea institution known for its commitment to musicians, audiences and live performance.

The Club’s story is closely linked with its long-serving leader, Steve Rubie. After taking over the venue in October 1976, Rubie helped guide it through decades of change while preserving its original spirit. Today, the Club operates from 90 Lots Road and continues to welcome music lovers from the UK and beyond.

Throughout its history, the 606 Club has offered a platform to artists at different stages of their careers. It has been associated with performers including Jamie Cullum, Claire Martin, Julian Joseph, Ian Shaw, Jason Rebello, Jeremy Stacey, Liane Carroll, Jim Mullen and Hamish Stuart.

The 50th anniversary celebrations in October 2026 will recognise not only the Club’s musical achievements, but also its enduring sense of community. After five decades, the 606 Club remains a place where audiences can discover exceptional performances and musicians can continue to thrive.
