With strong influences of Rock, Blues, Folk and Country, James Fox introduces the world to his forthcoming album ‘All The Fours’ (released February 5th) with his new single ‘The Rest Of Our Lives’.

Guitar driven instrumentals accompanied by smooth vocals create a sweet, feel-good love song with edges of longing and hope. Broadcasting the unpredictable motions of love, the single pictures the environment of wanting a new beginning and falling in love all over again. The track comes across as grounded and honest, which speaks to its influences but never feels overly emotional. This is an authentic tale touching on real feelings rather than romanticised drama, which fits the musicality perfectly.

‘The Rest Of Our Lives’ is a wonderful follow up to Fox’s last single ‘Fire and Coal’ which sets a melancholic tone and shows an ability to diversify a somewhat over-explored set of genres. On top of being a talented lyricist, James Fox shows skill at composing heartfelt accompaniments, which never overwhelms his songs’ meanings. All this promise is sure to be put on display in the album release, meaning listeners should be excited for it to drop.

“This album was written during a year that most of us were forced to stop. I rediscovered music again and started writing songs for the first time in years. The songs needed to come out, it felt like it was writing itself from time to time. I started getting very reflective and sifting through my past for the first time. It was therapeutic in many ways but also exhausting, upsetting and difficult...

I have been as honest as I can possibly be with the lyrics on this album and have talked about everything from my issues with gambling, loss of family, friends, the music business, my own demons and fears, right though to hope, finding new and real love and happiness and everything that was in between. My career has been very diverse and I’ve been lucky to have had many amazing opportunities and experiences” – James Fox

Overall, the single is captivating in an easy-going sense. The genuine storytelling is effortless to connect too, meaning listeners can relax and sink into the music, enjoying it from start to finish.
