As summer nears, June 23rd is fast approaching–the annual Bring Your Dog to Work Day. For any dog-loving employees, this is likely an exciting prospect, and though it is an excellent opportunity for dogs to interact with their social circle in the workplace, some owners find it difficult if their pup is a bit more sensitive.

Fortunately, the Yellow Dog Campaign was launched in 2012 to create awareness for those dogs in need of space. Represented by the bold colour of yellow, these dogs require particular care, and never should be stroked without requesting permission first, as they may be suffering from emotional disabilities, trauma, or could be in the process of rehabilitation.

The outstanding Yellow Dog charity not only promotes the message of respect and safety when it comes to approaching strange dogs, but provides owners with a range of tools necessary to both train and socialize dogs, such as yellow bandanas, jackets, and leads. These items are ideal for informing members of the public when dogs need space, and by 9am on June 23rd, if you’re wearing a yellow cravat or ribbon, your dog will be unmistakable in their needs or requirements.

Providing a safe and caring environment for your dog is of the utmost importance while in the workplace, and if your pup is wearing yellow, make sure everyone around them knows that a little space could make all of the difference.

The Yellow Dog Campaign is the ultimate form of awareness for all dog owners, resulting in a beneficial day for both the dog and the owner –especially on Bring Your Dog to Work Day.
