Alternative R&B and pop artist Vienna I is teasing her upcoming EP RYDA with the release of her
single Blank in Space, set to release April 7th, 2023.
Where did the inspiration for your new single first come from?
“My new single is called ‘Blank in Space’. My inspiration behind the song was the dream of life being easy, full of fun and exciting after going through tough times and situations that are overwhelming and stressful. There’s a lot about life that is difficult at the moment, but a big thing that keeps me going is the hope of how amazing life will be once I get through it. This song ‘Blank in Space’ is the embodiment of that.”
How did you find the process of making the single?
“I just imagined myself laying on the ground, looking up at the stars having nothing to be stressed about. Through those thoughts, I wrote the chorus and the verse.”
Is there a message behind your latest song? What do you hope listeners take from it?
“The message behind this song is about stress and difficult times, but knowing that there is always light at the end of the tunnel. I hope the listener’s takeaway from this song that stressful times don’t last forever and on the other side there is always so many amazing things waiting for you no matter how far away it seems.”
Which artists are you listening to at the moment?
“I listen about to Dave and Knucks a lot; I love the way their music has so much meaning behind it. I also listen to Whitney Houston quite a lot as well. Her vocal ability was out of this world.”
Which of your influences would you have dinner with? What would you want to ask them?
“I would choose to have dinner with Ed Sheeran if I could have the chance. I would ask him about the journey through his music and how he pushed himself to get where he is today. I started out with not a lot of support and doing things on my own, so hearing from him would have a very big impact on me.”
Do you have any upcoming projects on the horizon?
“In May 2023 I have an EP being released. It’s a four-track EP called RYDA.”
