Innocence is not treated as a weakness on AIONOSA’s forthcoming EP, IRIS. Instead, the three-piece group explores it as something powerful and beautiful: the capacity to remain curious, recognise possibility and approach life openly, even after experiencing disappointment.
That outlook sits within a broader project about transformation and perspective. Inspired particularly by group leader Zilla’s experiences after COVID-19, IRIS reflects a renewed appreciation for being alive and for finding value in the present. The EP asks how difficult periods can change someone’s understanding of life without closing them off to its possibilities.
Zilla, Jojo and Sagwa develop these ideas through AIONOSA’s collective artistic vision. Alongside its emphasis on innocence, the project explores the philosophy of “turning disappointments into appointments.” Both themes rest on a willingness to see beyond an immediate setback and consider what an unexpected change might make possible.
